Rosca de Reyes

In Mesxico a Rosca de Reyes is served on January 6th to celebrate the "Dia de los Reyes Magos"- Day of the Three Wise Men. In Southern Mexico this is the day when kids open presents that the Reyes bring to them, instead of Santa Claus After today the Holidays are  officially over. The tradition is to bake a Rosca with a plastic tiny little baby hidden inside. Whoever gets the plastic baby then hosts a party and serves tamales on the "Dia de la candelaria" on February 2. This marks 40 days after the "birth of Jesus" or after Christmas, when the baby was presented at the temple according to Jewish tradition.
