Today her wish came true

A couple of weeks ago a friend at church asked if I could help her take on runing herself. Last week we met one day and went on an early morning walk/jog. Today we decided to meet at the park and bring the kids along. It was a beautiful day, perfect for a run and flying a kite! Aaron brought a kite home a couple of months ago, he was excited to have found it on sale. Last week at the library Naomi found a book about kites, we brought it home and have been reading it all week long. Since then she has been so excited about being able to fly one again this year. Today her wish came true.

All,

There is a bill that the state congress is overviewing right now that would make it illegal to fish in all rivers and streams except 14 in Utah. This bill is sponsored by rich lander owners and developers who want to hike up the price of properties that have streams on them.

Winter wonderland 2008

We had a fun Christmas! My two brothers, nieces, nephew and sister in law visted from Texas. I was so happy and excited to see them. They arrived surprising everyone, except me, with their unexpected visit. My sister in law called about a month prior to let me in their little secret so I could make sure everyone would be home and that we were not planning on surprising them. So I had to keep the secret from everyone for a month. Pure torture! They stayed for 2 weeks and I loved every minute of it. We sled, we sled a lot, built snowmen and had snowball fights, went ice skating, we made and ate LOTS of tamales, even broke a piñata at night in 25 F degree weather! My parents house was filled with laughter, noise and kids running up and down all day and night. And when it all came to and end we were all sad to see them leave, wish they could have stayed. My little girls had a lot of fun playing with their cousins and meeting them for the first time. Naomi often remembers them, little Dany in particular, I think they have the same wild spirit and in that way were able to keep up with each other. Christmas this year was back to being what it was always meant to be.

Here's little Jo-Jo and cousing Mia sledding. They loved it.

Car for sale

My brother needs to sell his car ASAP. If you are looking for a car, or might know someone who is, send them our way! It's a really nice car and it runs great. Take a look here. Thanks!

On running.

I found this quote on Marathon Mommies, one of the running blogs I visit. I like everything it says, I relate to it. So I thought I'd post it.

I Run Because...I love not just the finish line, but the trip along the way * it makes me feel free * I've got energy to burn * I need energy * it's my anti-depressant * I hope my kids will * I need and excuse to eat * stopping would hurt so much more than a blister or a broken toenail * walking takes too long and I have things I need to get done * my personal best is just that: mine * it's a good kind of sore * it makes the pavement feel needed * there are a lot worse addictions out there * there's no better way to explore a city or enjoy the spring flowers and fall leaves * I "just felt like running" * there's no drug like adrenaline * I'll never know how far I can go unless I try * the pavement doesn't complain when you pound it * it takes all I've got, but gives back more * Other's can't * I can *

I am back on the streets. This time a new experience of early risings and freezing temperatures. I have ditched the stroller. This time it's only me and my thoughts, and the dog. You can see my journey here (falls to icy pavements included).

Where are Jocie and Naomi?

The girl's love to play hide and seek. It's their favorite game. We play while I cook dinner- they go hide while I count, and chop and stir and then I go find them. They have a favorite hiding spot and will hide there over and over again. They don't seem to understand yet, that the point it's to make it hard and unpredictable for me to find them, they are so cute. They've gotten pretty good at getting in there quickly, almost choreographed. The first few times they would bump heads and shovel and push each other while tryin to get in there. Now they have master the art of hidding under the little side table in seconds. They still need a little work on other areas, like not giggling when they hear me walk into the room, and pulling their feet all the way in under the cloth.

Aren't they funny!?

All fixed

Aaron fixed my computer last night! He formatted it and backed up all my files! YAY! No more viruses. Thank you baby, I love you! Lots of pictures to come soon.

Update

Yes! My computer is still down with multiple viruses, I'm doing this from my parent's home since Aaron is away for the weekend on one of his annual fishing trips. I'm undecided on how I feel about him going away for so many days at the time , 3 to be exact, but he loves it! He practically looks forward to the next year's trip from the moment he gets home and walks in the door. And he is such a good dad and husband and hard worker, so I guess he deserves it. So there's that.

Now for my update:

Josie went on the potty right the next day! ...once, and after that she decided that going on her diaper was way more comfortable and handy so she refuses to please mami with going on the potty again. She hardly ever sits on it, just for play as she used to before! and I know well for experience, with Naomi, that pushing the issue will only make it worse and lenghten the process so I am stepping away from that matter for the moment. I'll just wait for some other signs of readiness. She'll let me know.
She is growing and learning and getting cuter and cuter by the day. She is trying to say more words, ex. ga-ga for galleta (cookie) and na-na for vitaminas (vitamins) which she loves, it is the first thing she asks for in the morning, na-na! and then she points you to the kitchen where I keep them. She's learned a few more signs like "up", which she uses when she wants off from her high chair. It was getting really annoying to have her whine and twist in her chair when she was trying to communicate this to us. She loves to dance and sing, like her big sister, and follows after everything she does. She loves to play hide and seek, she loves to finger paint and color with markers only, no crayons please, that is an insult for her! She is not allowed to use them unless she is sitting in her high chair, but even then she gets her way to sneak one away and try them on more interesting surfaces than paper, like the walls and couches! She is still taking 2 naps during the day, YAY! and going to bed by 7PM! I guess keeping up with big sister takes that much energy. So many things about my little baby I can go on and on, but then I would be here all night and wouldn't be able to get to the rest of the family members.

Naomi is just and amazing little person. She teaches me more things that I can teach her in one day. She is such a sweet little girl with such a funny personality and endless energy. She has graduated form nursery and is now going to primary. On the second Sunday of being there she got kicked out of class and the teacher brought her to me :( She's my wild child, or one of them. She loves her dance class, I think wearing her pink tu-tu like a ballerina is her favorite part. The first day of class she introduce herself to the teacher and told her that she was dressed like a ballerina. She loves being a big sister, kissing and hugging little sister all better and also pretending to put little sister in time out or putting her down for a nap are some of her favorite things about being a big sister. Princess stories are her favorite at bedtime but she will enjoy any other good books too. She enjoys helping mami, in the kitchen. Baking is her specialty, cookies, cupcakes, banana bread, pancakes, you name it! She is now sitting still for longer periods of time. We can go as long as 1 hr sitting at the kitchen table having our mini lessons. I was worried that she wouldn't be ready for preschool this year, but I think she'll be just fine. I'm not so sure about myself.

Both Naomi and Jocie are lots of fun to see grow and learn. I'm so blessed to have them for me to take care of and love every day. I just don't know yet what I have done to deserve such beautiful little people in my life.

Aaron is still enjoying his new job, not so new anymore, he's been there for about 7 months now. He is taking a break from school this semester, so we have been able to enjoy having home for both breakfast and dinner every day, YAY! I really do appreciate the help I get during bed time too, that is the Josie and Naomi's bedtime (blushing). It's not always easy putting the two of them down for bed at the same time, bath, toothbrushing, pj's, stories, songs, specially at the end of the day when I'm almost at the end of my rope, so we are all loving that. He is also playing church basketball on Wednesday and Saturdays and he just got a new calling! One that is less time consuming, Ward Secretary. And like I said he is fishing right now. Can't wait until the gets home on Sunday!

Me, I'm just taking care of those 3 wonderful people I just mentioned to you about- Don't forget Tank-man! Even though he is very easy to take care of, feed him and scratch him behind the ear and he is happy, add some food droppings from the table for a bonus and he can't ask for more- They are my life and I love being able to tend to their every need. Still have my calling with the YW, but who know for how much longer, they have been making a lot of changes in our branch, I have a feeling they won't keep me there for very long. And on the side I have been trying to get away to do a little running, my love away from home or just around the neighborhood really. No fancy projects, just the one of keeping my sane and cool everyday as it comes, and the one of raising our little girls, do I need anymore than that?
