Day 55

Sick
Friday February 24, 2012

My poor little boy is getting sick. The down side is seeing in discomfort. The only good thing, is that I get to snuggle him to his (and mine) little heart's content. If only hugs and kisses could make it all better :(

Day 54

Rehearsing
Thursday February 23, 2012

The girls will be part of children's play coming up in May. This will be their first acting experience, and we are so excited for it!

Day 52

Bread
Tuesday February 21, 2012

I am trying this new thing where I go grocery shopping once every two weeks, instead of once a week, in the efforts to spend less money and waste less food. It seems like every time I'm at the store I end up spending more than I was planning on spending and then end up throwing away food left and right. I have found that when there is less food in the house I am more aware of what I have in my fridge and make sure to use it before it goes bad. Anyway, we are on week two and we ran out of bread yesterday, so I thought I'd made my own bread! It turned pretty good to be my first time. Jojo thought it was quite a lengthy process, she could not wait to get her hands on it. The husband and the girls loved it-Success! I think I'm going to try making my own bread from now on, maybe even investing on a little grain miller. We'll see.

Day 51

 Man's best friend
Monday February 20, 2012

Tank follows me around the house from room to room like he was my shadow, sometimes right behind me, sometimes in front of me like he is herding me! Kind of annoying. He also seems to find the most inconvenient spots to lay down at.  Here he is  plopped right in the middle of my kitchen floor while I'm trying to get dinner done. Keeps things interesting (trying to dodge him and jumping over him) and the baby entertained.

Day 50

Missionaries
February 19, 2012

Elder C. and Elder F. by Naomi

The missionaries came over for lunch today. We have the missionaries over at LEAST once a week, daddy is the mission leader at out ward, so our family gets very acquainted with every missionary that comes through here. We love to feed them and get to know them, it is a plus when they play the piano and serenade us with Hyms on our old player piano. We love missionaries!

Day 49

Whipped Cream Goodness
February 18, 2012

Daddy gave him a little taste of whipping cream during breakfast. The boy has ever only been nursed, needless to say, he went crazy!

Day 48

 Bella Bear's Birthday
February 17, 2012

Last night I walked into the girls room announcing that it was time for bed. Jocie quickly whispered to me letting me know that her Bella Bear was sleeping, that it was her birthday tomorrow and she was planning a surprise party for her, gift and all. Today is Friday, which means Jojo has the day off from school. She woke up ready for the day's event, but had to wait for our morning routine of breakfast and sissy to be dropped off at school. The anticipation was too much! As soon as we got home she wanted to get things going. I suggested baking some cupcakes, to which she said: "But that takes too long!" So she agreed to a cream cheese, nutella and rasperry sandwich, simple. She set out her tea party set and we had a little birthday celebration for Bella Bear.  We unwrapped presents and sang happy birthday. She (Jojo) beamed with joy. Happy birthday Bella Bear!

Day 47

Birthday
February 16, 2012

She is learning about recycling in school so she is reusing this Valentine's chocolate box to wrap her gift in.

Tomorrow is a special someone's birthday. Jojo is planning a party!

Day 45

Valentine's day.
February 14, 2012

Valentine's Breakfast.

For the past couple of  years I have made crepes for our Valentine's Day breakfast, so I guess it's become a little tradition.

Baby's first Valentine's.

After breakfast we all exchanged Valentine's cards, then hurried out the door for school and work.

Naomi and I made this for dinner:

I found an instant pizza crust yeast that you don't have to let raise- You just knead, roll out and bake! Awesome!

We also had  strawberry- lemonade slushies- I used frozen strawberries and fresh lemons. It was a hit!

I'm excited for next year!

Day 44

Heart Attack
February 13, 2012

While the babies are sleeping.

Day 42 and 43

Daddy left ice fishing for the weekend. He's been going on this trip with his friend every year for the past 3 or 4 years. I am glad he gets to take a break and do something he enjoys A LOT. He is a hard worker and a great daddy and husband. He deserves it.
I decided that in order to pass the long 2 and 1/2 days  we would have to keep ourselves busy. The girls were invited to a birthday party Friday, so that took care of day 1. Here's what we did the next day, Saturday:

GOO BATH

I found this cool GOO powder stuff at Targer for less than $5. The girls loved it! They stayed in it for over an hour! Surprisingly it stayed pretty warm the whole time.

Great fun!

Pedicures

...and the day after that, Sunday, Our ward had a little surprise visit from this guy:

It was pretty cool.

Day 41

Big Sister
February 10, 2011

I have 7 siblings, being the third from the oldest and the oldest of 4 girls. I don't know how it was for my 5 younger brothers and sisters to have me as an older sister, but I know how it is for my two youngest to have this girl as their big sister, in one word: WILD!

Day 38

Princess girl.
February 07, 2010.

The past couple of days have been really nice. It feels like April weather, but it's only February. Must be global warming. So since the day was so nice today I thought we'd go outside and enjoy the sunshine by going on a little walk/scooter ride. I told the girls to get ready (shoes, coats) and this is what Jocie thought would be appropriate to dress in, of course. Oh, that little princess of mine! At least her toes kept cozy :)

Day 37

 Bath Time.
February 06, 2012

For the first 4 months of the boy's life we have kept his bedtime routine down to rocking him and singing to him before putting him in bed. We are working on including a bath, (now that is not so cold) and books to it (now that he seems to not go crazy every time he sees a one!-I think he is getting the hang of what books are really for). Now he just needs to sleep through the night... but that's a different story.

Day 36

Mis pequenitos.

I have no picture to show for yesterday Sunday February 05, 2012. But I do have this precious picture of my  little ones taken the day before! I love that I was able to catch their innocent, genuine smiles. So grateful for cameras!

Day 35

 Hair cuts
February 04, 2012.

2 Summers ago we watched a documentary on TV about a group of little girls that let their hair grow long to then cut it and donate to other little girls their age undergoing cancer treatment. The girls kept asking questions while we watched and were very interested, they sat and watched the whole thing. When it finished I asked them if they would like to do the same: let their hair grow and then donate for other little girls to have. They happily agreed. I told them I would let mine grow too and then we could all do it together. I cut mine last week and today was their turn. They were so excited! I never knew little girls could be so excited about a hair cut! Naomi is not very fond of getting her hair pulled while mommy tries to comb it, so she was specially excited. I'm so pleased with my little girls, they've know and understand the purpose of what they did today, we talked and talked about it in many occasions during the last 1 and half year and they always were very willing to do it with out thinking about it twice. Here are the picture from our trip to the hair salon:
