Easter 2008

So this past weekend we celebrated my dad's b-day and Easter with the few relatives that we have here in Utah, my cousins Los Arcia, Evelin and Alex, also cousins and mi tia Chave and Eunice, my aunt and my cousin. It was really nice to spend time with all of them. Even though we only have each other here, we hardly ever get together. Yeah, kindda sad. I realized how important it is to bond with them. Aaron and I talked about it afterwards and decided that we needed to take the initiative to do it more often. I didn't realized that there's already 4 children in the family! Sometimes I feel bad thinking that my girls are not growing up with their cousins , like I did, because my older brothers who have kids live far away, but I feel better now realizing that they will have that now that the family is growing. Back to the celebrations. My dad made some awesome ribs, soooo goood! and to go with that he has this BBQ sauce recipe that is really good too. My dad's like a BBQ pro. Afterward, we all got stuffed with tres leches cake that was really good too. I think I gained like 2 lbs that weekend. And of course we had an egg hunt for the little ones. Naomi was moving very quick finding all those eggs, while the other 2 little ones were trying to figuere out what to do, after a little they all picked up their speed too. The next, Sunday, we had an improvised dinner at our house, ate a lot, had another egg hunt, the kids painted some eggs and then we had a Family Home Evening . I got to play the piano to accompany the hyms we were singing. It was a really big deal for me because I've never played with other people singing and I was really nervous, but it worked out, he-he! I need to keep practicing. Anyway, that was our Easter, we had a nice weekend and made some memories with our family. THE END. I will post some pics later.

That's what sisters are for.

So we went for a jog this morning. I was kindda regretting it because it was a bit chilly and windy. We were only like 1/4 of our way out when Naomi started snuggling against Jocie, I think she was cold or else she would have been singing and doing all sorts of funny things to keep Jocie entertained, but instead she fell asleep. Jocie was squashed the whole way. She must have been uncomfortable because she was not able to fall asleep, like she usually would do, but she never complained or even moved. What a sweetie! Naomi kept her warm and Jocie thanked her by not waking her up. That's what sisters do, take care of each other! Here's a picture of my two little angels.

Weight in follow up

Ok, so it's been a couple of weeks since my dead line to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I am happy to report that I'm 2 lbs away from my goal. I'm expecting to loose them with in a week, since I have now added jogging to my efforts to lose the weight. Last week I was sick for 5 days and that helped me loose about 3 or 4 lbs, I refuse to gained them back and this is the reason why I have gotten back to jogging. Yesterday was my first day, and I surprised my self, I was able to jog for longer that I'd expected. I walked from 1900 South all the way to 900 South and then jogged almost the whole way back. I had to stop at a couple of stop lights and then I was able to catch my breath to keep going. Tank did really good. I had been feeling really anxcious about getting back out there because during my pregnancy we had a couple of bad encounters with other dogs, one of them a wrotweiler and another one with a punny little dog that I hate! It always comes chasing after us, it's got some guts to be chasing after a big Germans Sheperd like Tank, and of course Tank goes crazy, he is very protective of the girls and I. One day I had to call animal control because the owners let it run around unleashed! Why do some people with small dogs think it's ok to do that!? GRRRRR! I got out there and almost turned around when we got close to where that little dog lives, but then I talked myself out of it and kept going, I figuered if it was out there now the owners would know that we are back and can put him back inside for the rest of spring and summer, ha-ha! Or else I am calling animal control again. Fortunately it wasn't outside and I think they saw us coming, so I'm expecting to have made my statement that Spring is here and so are we. Winters are really hard for Tank because he hardly gets walked, but I love it when it's starts getting warm and I have a feeling he does too. We are a good team. Tank keeps the freaks away, believe me no one dares coming near us with him by our side, the one day I did leave without him I got flashed by a freaking pervert! So I'm happy to have him even if he freaks out when he sees other dogs coming, the ones behind the fence he does not mind, we walk passed a doggy day care as part of our route and he acts as if none were, even when they are all barking and going crazy trying to jump the fence. The girls love it too, Naomi says hi and bye to everyone we see, her and Josie talk for the first little while and then Josie falls asleep, nice! So yeah, with a little support group like mine who would not enjoy going for a jog!?

Aaron, AKA, super dad

I was noticing that all I have ever written on this blog is about me and the girls, I have left my baby, Aaron out. But today I am making up for it and this whole entry is just about him. Where should I begin? He is so busy this days I don't even know where to start. He has been working really hard at his job trying to get another promotion. Ever since he started to work in this company, ADP, it has been no where but up for him. He has been promoted so many times, it seems that whatever he sets his mind to he has been able to accomplish. At the same time he is going to school, he's got a long way to go still, but he is doing awesome. He really is really smart, I think he surprises himself. He is only taking a couple classes at a time, right now he is taking trigonometry and something- programing, which he is really good at. At work he gets to practice what he learns at school and for what I hear he is the best one in his team. He is on his way to becoming a programmer. His calling keeps him busy as well. He is the mission leader at our branch, the first and only Spanish speaking branch in our Stake. I don't know how the English missions do here in the Valley, but the Spanish ones, at least ours keeps very busy. He gets together with the missionaries every Wednesday for correlation meetings at our house and after that they go out to visit recent converts and investigators, he loves missionary work. With all this things going on the girls and I can't wait for the weekends when we get to spend more time with daddy. Fridays are sacred for us, we get a babysitter, usually my sister Itza or my mom and we have our date-night, so I can't complaint. The girls and I manage to keep busy while he's away at work, school, with the missionaries or in our basement doing homework or logged into his computer at work. He really is great and has come a long way since we got married. He is a serious man now, no more x-box and computer games, LOL! Fishing is still his passion, so he gets away with it often, he deserves it. I love him and I know his hard work is always with us in mind and I thank him for that. I have a cool husband!

Naomi's Chones

This is so funny I just had to blog it in. It's been a couple of days that we started potty trainning Naomi, it's really been longer that that, but this time she is going diaper-less and is now wearing undies. This morning I took her to the potty and left her there while she was done, this is the funny part, when she was done she screamed for me to come help her pull them up, she said: Mami ponme mis chones! "Chones" is a nick name for undies in spanish and she just sounded so cute saying that. Ha- ha- ha! It was really funny. Anyway, I just wanted to make this a quick comment. Have a great day, whoever even reads this.
